#Coronavirus: US Embassy in Nigeria Cancels Routine Non-immigrant Visa Appointments

The United States Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria (Abuja and Lagos) has cancelled all routine non-nimmigrant visa appointments, effective March 18, 2020.

The Embassy stated that routine visa services will resume as soon as possible, but they are unable to provide a specific date at this time. The MRV fee is valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment.

The U.S. Mission in Nigeria has urged visa applicants that have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, to please follow the guidance provided on their appointment booking portal to request an emergency appointment.

The move is as a result of curbing the further spread of the novel coronavirus outbreak which has so far killed close to 9,000 people worldwide.
